DaVinci Gourmet has announced the launch of its first Barista Craft Championship, a global event dedicated to the artistry and skill of baristas. Set to unfold across Africa, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Latin America, this championship is themed “United Through Coffee,” highlighting the unifying power of coffee culture worldwide.
The DaVinci Gourmet Barista Craft Championship 2024 aims to spotlight emerging talent and celebrate the craft of coffee-making. With competitors from over 20 countries, the championship promises to push the limits of flavor, technique, and presentation. Participants will create coffee-inspired masterpieces that reflect contemporary trends and innovations in the industry.
The competition kicks off with national preliminary rounds from August 1 to 18, 2024. During this phase, participants from Africa will submit digital entries featuring detailed recipes, preparation videos or written methods, and images of their coffee creations, all using DaVinci Gourmet products with Espresso.
Successful entrants will advance to the Africa finals, scheduled for September 14, 2024, in Nairobi, Kenya. Here, competitors will tackle a series of espresso-based challenges judged on technical skill, flavor complexity, and presentation.
The championship will culminate in the regional finals at the FHA HoReCa event in Singapore, October 23-24, 2024. National champions from each participating region will compete in practical tests, latte art challenges, and the presentation of their signature coffee beverages.
Winners will not only earn global recognition but also stand a chance to win up to USD 6,000 in cash and prizes, including a sponsored coffee experience trip.
