Naivas Expands with 112th Outlet in Mihango to Improve Local Shopping Access

Naivas Limited has officially expanded its footprint in Nairobi’s eastern suburbs with the opening of its 112th branch in Mihango, Utawala, bringing quality, affordable, and convenient shopping closer to thousands of residents.

The new outlet, strategically located in one of the city’s fastest-growing residential zones, is designed to enhance the shopping experience through a modern store layout, a wide product range, and the retailer’s trademark focus on fresh food and competitive pricing.

Speaking during the launch, Naivas Chief Executive Officer Andreas von Paleske said the expansion aligns with the supermarket’s community-driven growth strategy.

“Our expansion is always guided by the needs of the communities we serve. Opening our 112th branch in Mihango underscores our commitment to bringing quality and affordability closer to more Kenyan households,” said von Paleske. “We are proud to continue creating accessible shopping spaces that elevate the customer experience while supporting local supply chains.”

Naivas Head of Store Operations, Cyrus Mathenge, said the company had ensured the new outlet was fully prepared to serve customers from day one.

“Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure that the Mihango store opens fully stocked, well-staffed, and ready to deliver the warm, seamless service Naivas is known for,” Mathenge said. “We look forward to serving residents of this vibrant neighbourhood with excellence.”

The retailer’s steady growth has also been driven by strong partnerships with local suppliers. Debenham & Fear CEO Raju Gudhka, speaking on behalf of suppliers, praised Naivas for strengthening the retail value chain.

“Naivas’ growth is a testament to their vision, consistency, and commitment to uplifting the retail sector. Each new branch strengthens access to quality products at fair prices,” Gudhka said.

The Mihango branch is expected to serve residents from Utawala, Ruai, and surrounding estates, offering greater convenience during the festive season and beyond. Naivas has invited shoppers and community members to attend the grand opening and experience its expanded retail offering.
