Kenya and the United Kingdom have pledged to strengthen their long-standing diplomatic and development cooperation, reaffirming a partnership that spans more than six decades.

Speaking in Nairobi during celebrations to mark the birthday of His Majesty King Charles III, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi underscored the Kenya Kwanza administration’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the UK.

“The bond between Kenya and the United Kingdom remains one of our most enduring partnerships, built on history, mutual respect, and shared aspirations,” Mudavadi said. “For over six decades, our cooperation has grown across key sectors including trade, ICT, health, energy, climate action, and security.”

He further highlighted the Kenya–UK Strategic Partnership, signed in July, as a key framework that will guide bilateral cooperation over the next five years.

The blueprint outlines joint priorities in trade and investment, climate resilience, defence, science and technology, among other sectors.

Mudavadi noted that the partnership continues to deliver tangible benefits to both nations, adding that Kenya remains committed to the values that underpin its strong ties with the United Kingdom.

The event brought together diplomats, government officials and representatives from various development agencies, marking yet another milestone in the Kenya–UK relationship.
