Diamond Trust Bank (DTB), in partnership with the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya (IRCK), yesterday hosted an interfaith Iftar Dinner at Movenpick Hotel in Nairobi. Themed “Strengthening Bonds of Peace, Unity, and Diversity,” the event brought together over 400 attendees from diverse religious backgrounds, including government representatives, diplomats and representatives from international development organizations.

Speaking at the event, Nasim Devji, DTB Group CEO, said “This evening, as we sit together Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, and people of all beliefs, we recognize that these values are not exclusive to any one faith but are shared by all. This is the essence of interfaith harmony. It is about strengthening the bonds that connect us as a community, a nation, and as people of different faiths who share common values.”

Nasim further said “At DTB, we are guided by our purpose: ‘To improve the quality of life of all our stakeholders in a sustainable and impactful way.’ We firmly believe that businesses, communities, and institutions all have a role to play in promoting inclusivity and understanding. Through financial inclusion, responsible business practices, and social impact initiatives, we aim to create opportunities that uplift all communities, regardless of faith or background.

Also speaking at the event, Hon. Aden Duale, the newly appointed Cabinet Secretary for Health, underscored the importance of religious harmony, stating: “Our differences in religion as Muslims, Christians, or Hindus highlight the need for us, in different capacities, to foster peace, unity, and tolerance. We must always champion national cohesion. I challenge each one of us to be an ambassador of peace, unity, and love. This is the true meaning of oneness as a nation. To achieve these values of good governance, we must appreciate our differences and celebrate our diversity.”

This marks the third consecutive year that DTB and IRCK have partnered to host an interfaith Iftar Dinner, reinforcing their shared commitment to fostering inclusivity and unity in society.
